Geoconferences (WA) was incorporated in 1987. This non-profit association comprises committed volunteers dedicated to the promotion of geoscience, in particular Precambrian geology, by arranging conferences, symposia and other meetings. Surplus funds are used to develop the careers of young geoscientists and promote the study and understanding of Western Australian geology, by providing travel grants.
Past events presented by Geoconferences include:
- Kalgoorlie ’93, ’97 and ’07
- 3rd, 4th and 5th International Archean Symposia in 1990, 2001 and 2010, 2023 (delayed due to COVID).
The association also hosted SEG 2004: Predictive Mineral Discovery Under Cover for the Society for Economic Geologists in 2004.
Our vision
To facilitate the exposure of the Western Australian geoscientific community and general public to innovative ideas, knowledge and technology that have the potential to influence our understanding of the State’s geology and its successful mineral exploration.
